Crispy & Easy Tofu Nuggets For Air Fryer

Crispy, simple to make and best of all, doesn’t use any little chickens. This is tofu excellence and I’m so excited for you to try! This recipe is by Attila Hildmann, a European celebrity television chef and best-selling author of Vegan For Fun.
- 1 package extra firm tofu
- 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp raw sugar cane
- 6-8 tbsp water
- 2 3/4 cups unsweetened cornflakes
- big glob of bbq sauce, hot sauce or ketchup for dipping!
Step by Step Instructions
Press out tofu really well and then cut into squares. You can pull it apart to make them look more like nuggets but I like just cutting them into about 1/2 cubes.
Stir the raw sugar cane with the flour and add the water slowly while stirring, so you create a nice batter. And then crumble those cornflakes! I don’t like to make them too fine though because I love a good crunch.
Put the tofu in the batter and really coat it. Then coat them with the cornflakes. I use a fork to help me because the batter is very sticky.
Now drop the nuggets in the air fryer! I try to make them a single layer and I put them in for 420 (or high setting) for ten minutes, then shake them, then put them in for another 7 minutes. But check your fryer.
